Credit and thanks to Ruby Collins and my cousin Cliff Davis of Lubbock, TX more information on Jacob Riley Roberts family was found. Jacob Riley Roberts apparently moved to Elbert Community in Throckmorton County, Texas with his family from Navarro County. I do not know when but suspect it would have been perhaps about 1900 to 1901. I think Sarah Annie Roberts and Charles Edward Davis her husband moved there with them along with Jim Roberts her brother. Sarah and Charles Davis moved their family to the high plains in the panhandle of Texas about nine miles north of Lockney, Texas within a year or two of 1925. Jacob Riley Roberts, Sarah's dad, and Nancy, her mom, both passed away in 1934 in Elbert Community. Jim Roberts her brother passed away the year before in 1933 in Elbert, TX. Grover Roberts also a son of Jacob Riley Roberts and brother of Sarah Annie Roberts passed away in Elbert, TX in 1967. John B Roberts, another brother passed away in Elbert, TX in 1908 when he was about 27 years old; he was born in 1881.

Sarah was in the hospital in 1937 and Charles her husband died in a car accident on the way home from visiting her. Sarah Annie Roberts survived her husband Charles about eleven years and passed away in 1948 in Floyd County, TX. Charles and Sarah are buried together in Lockney Cemetery.
I did find information in Graford Jennings research on Jennings family that shows Jacob Riley Roberts family attended the Prarie View Church of Christ in Elbert TX community. Some of the song leaders were Bros. Ruff Roberts. Gus, Drew, and Fred Jennings. William Albert Jennings. Low, Jess, Ray Jennings. Pearl Roberts was a teacher at the Smith-Ewalt School built between 1908 - 1913 in the Elbert TX Community. Early 1900s.

If I remember correctly mom said Alvah N Davis, my grandad, had taught school at Newcastle, TX but I do not know what year. I guess that would have been around 1911 to 1914 as grandad Alvah N Davis was born in 1894 in Navarro County, Texas.
